PAVILION
PHILOSOPHY
The founders of Pavilion believe that we can put to work our winemaking skills
to create some of the best value Napa Valley wines. We believe that decades
of Napa winemaking experience will allow us to create a better bottle of wine
at a better price point than whats generally available from Napa Valley.
PRODUCTS
Our current releases include our Napa Valley Chardonnay, Napa Valley Merlot,
and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. You will find our wines to be fruit forward,
well balanced and pleasant to drink.
WINEMAKERS
Our wines are carefully crafted by Brian Mox and Larry Levin, both who are
among the most experienced winemakers in the Napa Valley. While completing
a degree at MIT in 1989, Brian worked his first crush at Hargrave Vineyards
on Long Island. Two years later he arrived in Napa to work at Stags
Leap Wine Cellars and then Pine Ridge Winery. He was pulled back to the academic
world in 1996 when he enrolled at UC Davis to pursue a PhD. His passion to
be close to the grapes cut short his program when he returned to Napa where
he has since been in the winemaking role for multiple Napa wineries including
Laird Family Estate (as assistant to Paul Hobbs), Chrichton Hall, Napa Redwoods
Estate, Voss, Stonegate and Etude.
After completing his Enology degree at UC Davis, Larry spent seventeen years
at Dry Creek Vineyard where over 18 vintages he produced more than 15 varietal
wines. For the previous nine years Larry was head of winemaking at Icon Estates
where he oversaw the Franciscan, Mt. Veeder, Robert Mondavi, Estancia, Ravenswood,
Quintessa and Ruffino brands.
